Hervey Bay is a peaceful and picturesque seaside city that has attracted holiday makers for over a century. It has plenty to offer for just about everyone, on the water and on the land. Hervey Bay is best known as the Whale Watch Capital and the home of the World Heritage listed Fraser Island. This haven which began as a number of seaside villages, boasts kilometers of beaches and offers a vast range of tourist attractions and activities for all ages. Hervey Bay's climate and idyllic waterways have led to an abundance of water sports activity in the area. A broad nature strip with a bike path meandering among the trees traces the entire stretch of sandy beach from the Urangan Pier to the last of the grand old beach houses at Point Vernon.
The beach is ideal for all ages and swimming, sailing, fishing, diving, sea kayaking and skiing are all readily available for the visitor's recreation. As well as an abundance of water based activities, Hervey Bay offers a wide variety of attractions and activities with something to suit all ages and interests. With art galleries and theatres, a broad range of eateries, sport and recreational facilities, clubs, botanic gardens, historical townships, major annual events, picnic areas, whale watch cruises, and Fraser Island only a breath away, magnificent views, natural attractions and a wide choice of accommodation - Hervey Bay really has something for everyone. Hervey bay has numerous night venues for the late night people such as The Viper Niteclub on the Esplanade at Torquay which is a glass free venue. There are no local casinos but you can try some online casinos in Australia as an alternative, and plenty of the better hotels have poker machines for guests to use. You can do as little or as much as you like in this relaxing coastal city.
Visitors to Hervey Bay can enjoy a range of attractions. You can fish from the shore or take advantage of the fishing charters on offer. An up close and personal wildlife park, Reefworld, shark show and shell display, mini golf, model railway through to the natural attractions of safe golden beaches. Don't forget the markets at the Whale Watch terminal located at the Urangan Marina held every Friday night 4-8 pm.
You might also like to take advantage of the many tours & cruises operating out of Hervey Bay. You don't even have to spend any money there are also many free things to do in Hervey Bay.
There is a huge range of sporting activities for visitors who prefer land based fun. Golf, lawn bowls, go karting, tennis, horse riding and skating plus many more are all part of the Hervey Bay lifestyle. If you feel very adventurous why not try skydiving, or sea kayaking.
